Wild Flower Rhapsody

Pink Think: “You’re only here for a short visit. Don’t hurry, don’t worry. And be sure to smell the flowers along the way.” – Walter Hagen

I was driving down the freeway worried about a few things, intent on getting home.

Then I saw the lady beside a parked car. She had a bright pink shirt and was cutting an armful of sunflowers that grew wild along the side of the road.

And I saw all of a sudden that the roadside had hundreds of beautiful yellow sunflowers dancing in the breeze, against a backdrop of gray dessert soil.

I had been too preoccupied to notice.

Thank you, Sunflower Lady, for the reminder.

My flowers-

freckles on my youngest’s face, and kissing them!
August temperatures in September
waking up to the sound of a child practicing the piano
a bite of strawberry danish twist
the promise of a nap on a quiet Sunday afternoon
coming home to the smell of crockpot roast
my oldest helping her brother at a horse show
joy on my son’s face for his best effort

What are YOUR flowers?
