Thermometer said 41 this morning. The first time in a while that it’s been higher than 40 degrees F. So warm, the kids and I rode horses in ankle-deep water; everything was melting. I am breaking out my swimsuit! (Not really, but it’s getting warmer, peeps!)

Kids have been home on holiday. Spent one of the mornings writing while my two younger ones were at day camp and my oldest was painting at the kitchen table, Yanni playing in the background. My novel rewrite is progressing well. Got over the “okay, so what now?” blockage in plot.

Such a peaceful, happy feeling. Especially when the sunlight slants into our red and yellow family room and makes me imagine a Tuscan countryside.

Surreal considering what is going on in Haiti right now. I pick up the paper and brace myself for the new story of despair. Why do these things happen? People are coming together to help, thankfully. Here are links:
