Instead

What could I be instead?

That’s the question that came to mind yesterday. I realized the novel I am rewriting now is two years old from its conception. And somehow I felt like life was ticking by and all I have been the past two decades has been “writer”.

What if I did something else? What would it be?

I am not giving up or hanging up my hat, mind you. I just liked to toy with the idea of waking up and not have the thrust of my efforts be towards writing. It’s possible, I s’pose.

The thought is as pink as cucumber.

As natural as melted rootbeer.

As fun as carbon footprints.

As sweet as sour candy.
