Pink Think: ” I prefer the rather old and battered, things with character, to the brand new.” – Rick Allen, Def Leppard drummer
Three retro updates this week.
Finally watched Nancy Drew starring Emma Roberts. My kids and I loved it. My 13 year old daughter said she was worried that they would ruin Nancy Drew in a modern setting, but I agree with her, the movie was cleverly done. I enjoyed not only watching the movie and seeing my childhood heroine come alive (and stay true to her character), I was thrilled that my daughter shares my love for all things Nancy Drew.
(When I was my daughter’s age, I had to be hospitalized. Chafing with boredom, I perked up immensely when my dad showed up with two Nancy Drew books. Those books got me hooked onto Nancy Drew, and mysteries in general.)

I am finally on Facebook. Yes *hangs head* I finally caved in. That is where everyone whom I have ever known in whatever obscure capacity has been hanging out these last few years!
(But I refuse to collect friends just to say I have friends. I have my principles!)
A cool thing happened recently. Someone posted pics of our elementary school pictures, and now I have more pics for my scrapbook! (When I moved to the States, I brought few photos and any I left behind in the Philippines got ruined by insects or mildew.)
Here I am as a second grader, front row and center, in my prim Catholic uniform:

Finally, speaking of retro, my retro rock band – I am the lead singer – will perform live this weekend at a park, for family and friends. A friendly crowd, but still…
Devil on shoulder: Are you ready for this?
Angel on shoulder: Sure!
I will give it my best shot and just plain have fun.
