Bumpy Landings and Chocolate

Pink Think: “Flying might not be all plain sailing, but the fun of it is worth the price.” – Amelia Earhart

Today, I have the pleasure of being part of my friend Donald Carey’s blog tour for his debut novel BUMPY LANDINGS.

Be sure to scroll to the end of this post and answer the question by Saturday, February 12, to be entered into this week’s BUMPY LANDINGS Book Tour Contest.

What you can win: CHOCOLATE! Also, your entry will be included in a Grand Prize drawing for more CHOCOLATE, a copy of BUMPY LANDINGS, and a CD of Vaihi. How cool is that?

From the back cover: When Jordan MacDonald goes behind his mother’s back to get his pilot’s license, he soon finds out that a life full of dishonesty attracts more turbulence than he’s ever faced in the air. Set against the majestic backdrop of the Hawaiian islands, this heartwarming story of romance and self-discovery will take you to new heights with each turn of the page.

My two-cents: Whenever I read a book, I always read it in context of my own personal experiences. As I am originally from the Philippines, I loved all the tropical references, whether it was the flowers (the protagonist works for a flower shop) or the food. I also have flown before in a four-seater plane, and to be honest, I was too air-sick to appreciate it, but I can see its allure for Jordan. Lastly, I love romance novels, and it was fun to read one from the point of view of a guy.

[I kept thinking, as I read, where are the recipes? Fortunately, the author has pani popo and chocolate haupia pie recipes on his blog.]
