Day after Thanksgiving, my family and I went to the Festival of Trees in downtown Boise.
I loved just walking around, and buying treats by the handfuls and more enjoyably giving them away to my kids, listening to a woman play carols on the grand piano, chatting with a “talking” tree, oohing and aahing over the different trees (especially the Philippine-themed one).
I felt like time was suspended, and sometimes I just had to stand there and let the Wonder of Christmas swirl and settle around me, just soaking it all in.

I’m ready for Christmas, are you?
No, not the shopping-side of it. For the record, I have not dented a single thing on my shopping list yet. I mean, I am ready for:
Christmas songs
the Charlie Brown movie
cute scarves
soft sweaters
warm cookies and hot chocolate
picking out a tree
watching my kids’ faces
and yes, even snow.
