Pink Think: “When I was growing up, I always read horror books, while my sister read romance novels.” – Dorothy Allison
Unlike the quote above, I did both.
The flip side of my horror fiction fetish is that I am an absolute sucker for romantic stories, which I suppose is more what you’d expect of a gal who writes a blog called Pink Ink.
More romantic suspense than bodice rippers; although I admit, as a teenager, I sneaked Mills & Boon from the library.
Which makes for a schizophrenic kind of writing career when I switch back and forth from a ghost story to a historical romance manuscript in one morning. But I guess suspense is what they have in common.

Here are some romantic favorites of mine growing up:
1. Margaret Mitchell’s Gone With The Wind – go Scarlett!
2. anything by Mary Stewart, but Nine Coaches Waiting tops the list
3. Louisa May Alcott’s Jo’s Boys – which helped me through high school heartbreak
4. Daphne du Maurier’s Frenchman’s Creek – the first book I swooned over
5. Charlotte Bronte’s Wuthering Heights – the second book I swooned over
