I used to be a ghostwriter of memoirs. Clients came to me with a similar story. They had started their book, but didn’t know how to get past that first or first few chapters. Some had a document of memories but didn’t know how to mold it into a readable story.
In essence, people hired me to help them finish what they started. I got really good at that–finishing a book, with all its imperfections. There would be room for revision later.
The key to finishing? It’s having a goal and finally saying the book is done.
We are down to the wire. Just one more day left with NaNoWriMo. If you haven’t reached your wordcount goal, this is the time to summon up that last push.
Finish what you started.
