Wanderlust

The fun thing with journalism is it gives you access to interesting people doing interesting things. I just finished a profile on a girl who has traveled extensively through Europe, and she’s only 18.

Throughout my interview with her, I kept thinking of my own daughter, who, at 16, has developed a burning wanderlust. I’ve told my daughter I can relate to her completely, because at that age (and still up to now) I absolutely wanted to travel.

When I was 15, I came to the U.S. and that experience made me the person that I am today. It’s given me a different perspective, has helped me in adapting to different situations and has added depth to my writing.

I want my daughter to have the same chance of traveling and experiencing different cultures.

What about YOU? Have you traveled outside the US? Where have you been? And where do you want to go?
