For the record, I haven’t read Stuart Little, the book. And I started Stuart Little the movie a few years ago in a limo ride to Wendover. But I was so carsick watching a movie while sitting sideways that I didn’t have a favorable impression of Stuart Little.
Tonight my son chose Stuart Little 2 for his movie-pick. Disappointed (I wanted him to pick Indiana Jones), I braced myself for a silly kid movie and was already thinking of what magazine to read on the sly.
What a delightful surprise! I loved the movie. It was packed with suspense and characters that were so believable (I mean a mouse! Who drives a car to school!). And funny. For two hours, I lost myself in Stuart’s world. And those colors. I was ready to buy very bright paint for my house and then I remembered I have a manuscript to send out. (I might still buy some clothes to update my wardrobe, though)
You really ought to give the first one (not to mention the book) a second chance. They are delightful! If you little guy likes that, you ought to checkout Runaway Ralph from the library, as well. One of my favorites!
I’m actually reading Stuart Little right now. My son loaned it to me after I kept taking a peek at it while he was reading it at bedtime.
Jewel,
This is great–good to see your blog!
