Pink Think: “I suppose you could say that everyone has an El Guapo. For some, shyness may be an El Guapo. For others, lack of education may be an El Guapo. But for us, El Guapo is a large ugly man who wants to kill us!” – Lucky Day from the movie “The Three Amigos”
Now that I have to get up every morning at 5:30 to fix breakfast for my daughter who attends junior high, it’s a very rare thing that I can stay awake through an entire movie on any given night.
Last night I did! And laughed so hard tears were spilling and my sides were hurting. Have you ever seen “The Three Amigos”? It’s goofball humor with heart! It was my husband’s pick for his birthday (Happy 40th, darling!)and I must have slept through it before (a long time ago) because I didn’t remember it being this Funny!
(I usually don’t exclaim this much about a movie, sorry, but this one deserved it.)
Normally I write in the kitchen while my family watches a movie (yes, I am a workaholic) but this time, I resisted the urge and I am so glad I did.
This movie is on my list of movies to watch over and over.
***
Enjoy your weekend, everyone! Oh, and before you go, tell me, what movie do YOU like watching over and over (and why)?
Well, the Keira Knightley P&P is very good, but Secondhand Lions is hilarious.
The THree Amigos is AWESOME, and I haven’t watched it in years! Thanks for the reminder!
I don’t know that I’ve ever seen all of The Three Amigos, but I’ll check it out!
I watched the Three Amigos while I was babysitting once. It was hilarious. Tell your hubby happy birthday for me.
The movie I will watch over and over again, is Rescuers Down Under, because I LOVE the characters and I love Australia. Another one I will watch over and over is Cool Runnings. This movie is SOOOOO funny. Plus the Disney version of The Three Musketeers in another one 🙂
The Three Amigos is a very funny movie. I have a hard time sitting still long enough to watch a movie. I make myself from time to time. When I do I am usually glad I did.
Are you kidding!?
“You killed the invisible swordsman!”
“It’s like living with a 6-year-old” (oh how I can now relate to that so much more).
And my Dear Hubby’s favorite (of course)…
What is it doing here?
I think it’s a male plane.
How can you tell?
Didn’t you notice its little balls?
I need to rent that, soon!
Em
I have that same issue. Anything past 9 pm and uh-huh, time for bed.
I love watching “Lucky Sleverin” repeatedly.
It reminds me of “Pulp Fiction” with the way it weaves in different parts of the story line.
Also like watching the WWII flick “The Best Years Of Our Lives”.
It was a very funny movie…but with that cast it had to be funny! And you weren’t wrong..well sorta. I do live in New England now…but I’m a Utah girl born and raised. I lived in Payson Utah until I turned 40. I’ve been living back east for the last 7 years….and I miss home desperately. I think about the beautiful Utah mountains everyday! Thanks for coming to visit me on my SITS day. It was a blast to meet so many new people…especially people from UTAH!
I haven’t watched that movie in a long time Jewel. It’s good to laugh like that, isn’t it!! One that we like to watch here is “Kicking and Screaming”. It’s one of those movies that makes me laugh all through the movie.
Oh, and Happy Birthday to the man in your life!!!
“My little Buttercup, has the sweetest…”
“Es-smile! Smile!”
Good times.
Speaking of Buttercups, we watch Princess Bride a lot, and What About Bob.
But Goonies definitely takes the cake around here.
I’ve got a big old list of movies I could (and do) watch over and over! I’ll only buy a DVD if it fits that list, and we own about 50.
The top of the list has to be “O, Brother, Where Art Thou?” though I’m the only one I know who likes it that much. (“You two are just dumber than a bag o’ hammers!)
Princess Bride, which I can quote from beginning to end.
Dragonheart (which I once watched nonstop for three days straight -don’t ask)
Rat Race
Monsters Inc
And almost all of the Disney animated classics.
I could go on. and on and on and on…
Monty Python and the Holy Grail
A Christmas Story
Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Ghostbusters
I’ve not watched The Three Amigos. It’s good? Glad that you had a lovely time laughing away. Oh by the way, happy birthday to your hubby!
I don’t have a fav movie that I watch over and over again for years. However, the one that I recently watched a few times is “The Secret”. The video helped put me on my current path in self growth and spirituality.
Hello Pink Ink, yes, the 3 Amigos really hilarious movie. Seen it twice too.
My favorite all time movie is ‘Casablanca’…believe it or not, have seen it not less that 20 times all the years, practically can quote all the famous lines too by Rick.
Then there’s ‘Eddy Duchin story’…you need a box of tissues beside you this movie.
Love ‘Pretty woman, Nottinghill and Erin Brokovich’ all seen more than 5 times. Our TV keeps showing them.
You have a great week and keep well, Lee.
I came back over to add some to my movie list. You got me thinking…I need to sit still and watch one. I loved Three Amigos. I can say I laughed during this one.
I learn so much in the comment section.
I have watched Return to Me probably 300 times and I cry and laugh every. time. I love that movie!
I could watch Love, Actually on loop…LOVE that movie.
My husband, his brother and a friend of theirs watch the Three Amigos over and over while they’re at the deer camp. They know ever single line…and say them along with the movie.
Yay, this is great! I have more movies on my to-watch list.
One other movie that I love to watch over and over and over: Groundhog Day.
Thanks everyone 🙂
Looks like you’re getting a plethora of comments here.
Three Amigos is a classic – I agree.
Hi Rick, thanks for stopping by. I was waiting for someone to say the p-word. :-).
PS It’d be so cool to get a caricature done by you. Maybe someday when I am semi-famous.
