Kindle Scout Day 7

After briefly falling off the hot & trending list, I was back on once again in the afternoon. What very well could have helped was an invitation by a former high school classmate (Thanks Eric! Hi classmates!) to nominate my book. There’s 200ish potential voters right there, so maybe that gave me an uptick?

Other observations

-I had been kicking myself for not having a business card for this kindle scout campaign…then realized I have a business card with my website URL, whose landing page features DEADLINE. So today, I gave away my regular business card to people who were interested in my book. One of them even came up to me and said, from seemingly out of the blue, “So…how are the books going?” A prime business card receiver.

-To rise above the crowd, a professional or eye-catching cover that hits the genre expectations really helps.

-I changed out my Facebook cover so I could have a billboard-style ad for my KS book. I don’t want to spam Facebook. I just plan on continuing to upload interesting content, on my author page (some on my campaign, some not) and my personal timeline (mostly not on my campaign)…but that’s something I do anyway, so it’s not a hardship.

(Though writing this out at 3 a.m. after doing some beta reading is a bit crazy, but I have committed to journaling through this experience, so no biggie.

I just hope that eventually, someone will be intrigued enough by my cover they will click, and nominate

-I am journaling so a) I can remember and b) I can help others who might want to do KS someday

-I noticed that my books on Amazon are getting some eyes on them. And I am getting some sales. I wonder if it’s because of Kindle Scout? On KS, they feature a link to your books on Amazon. If so, it’s a great side-benefit., just for that alone. If I had other books in the genre, I bet they could go gangbusters, potentially

-The hubby and I were at a bank opening an account and the banker asked if my income was “less than a million dollars” from my writing career. We laughed, but then I turned to my hubby and cheekily told him to note this day, when I decided that I want to earn a million dollars someday from my books. 🙂 A KS win would probably jumpstart that

Do you mind taking a minute to check out and nominate DEADLINE if you haven’t yet? Thank you so much! Here’s the link: http://amzn.to/2wZKcm4. If you already have, thank you!
