If You Had to Live The Same Day

Pink Think: “This is one time where television really fails to capture the true excitement of a large squirrel predicting the weather.” – Phil in the movie Groundhog Day

Update: On February 3, Pink Ink is the featured blog on SITS. Thanks Tiffany and Heather!Welcome to my place, SITStahs, and thanks for stopping by. Feel free to browse and say hi. On to my original post:

Happy Groundhog Day!

Despite the fact that I do not get how weather hinges on a groundhog seeing its shadow, it is still one of my favorite holidays.

This is why. I will be watching the 1993 movie Groundhog Day starring Bill Murray and Andie McDowell.

I love this movie!

Bill Murray plays a weather reporter, Phil, who finds himself stuck in Punxsutawney, PA, during a snowstorm and is doomed to relive Groundhog Day over and over. Andie McDowell plays Rita, his love interest.

The movie features a cute groundhog…

…and it never fails to make me laugh out loud.

Some of my favorite lines:

Rita tells Phil what her dream man would be like, and he replies, “This is a man we’re talking about, right?”

And another time, Phil tells Rita what he knows about her: “You like boats, but not the ocean. You go to a lake in the summer with your family up in the mountains. There’s a long wooden dock and a boathouse with boards missing from the roof, and a place you used to crawl underneath to be alone. You’re a sucker for French poetry and rhinestones. You’re very generous. You’re kind to strangers and children, and when you stand in the snow you look like an angel.”

He recalls a perfect day and says, “That was a pretty good day. Why couldn’t I get that day over and over and over?”

If YOU could live a day over and over, what would the day be like?

For me, it would be island hopping in the Philippines, eating lots of fish, crab, lanzones, santol or atis when I want, lazing on a hammock, sipping coconut juice in my own private cove.
