If I Change Careers 20

Pink Think: “I mean, the sound of an amplified guitar in a room full of people was so hypnotic and addictive to me, that I could cross any kind of border to get on there.” – Eric Clapton

While waiting for my brother and his wife at Wal-Mart last week, my 11 year old nephew and I played a demo of Rock Band 2.

Rock Band is a computer game where you “play” an instrument and hit the notes the same time as it shows you on the screen.

We played “American Woman” which is probably my most favorite Guess Who song (I went to a concert years ago and danced and shouted myself hoarse).

At first, I looked around to make sure no one was watching. I mean, there I was, a thirty-something mom, pretending to be a guitarist while my nephew played the drums. But soon, I didn’t care anymore.

I was having way too much fun!

I’ve decided if I ever change careers, I would want to be the guitarist for a rock band.

I’m a Guitar Hero fan! It’s just soooo much fun!! And it’s something I can do better than my husband….not that I’m competitive or anything…(much).

You have a lovely blog and I LOVE PINK TOO!!!!!!!!

Violin was as close to guitar as I got, because they didn’t have classes for guitar, just orchestra.

I was, however, asked to play the bass guitar for the Jazz music we are playing this year for school. So I am now learning the bass clef, because the strings on the bass are the same as the violin, just backwards 🙂

Dorsey: Haha, that’s funny, Dorsey. I can picture you going crazy on those drums 🙂

Lynette: I used to not get it, but now…

    Q: Well, I didn’t say I played well :-).

Evelyn: I was glad for my nephew being there. I had to help him, you know ;-).

Sabine: That would be so cool, to teach yoga.

Whiteshadow: Thanks for coming by, and for the tag. 🙂 Hope to see you again soon.

Heather: Me, too! I just might be visiting that Wal-Mart a lot, hehe.

Brooke: Yeah, it’s great that us amateurs can still belt it out.

Queenie and fellow pink-lover: *not that I’m competitive or anything* That’s cool 🙂 Hey, it’s all in fun, isn’t it?

Jewelstreet: Of course an enthusiastic audience is needed, too 🙂

Melanie: I’ll have to check out who has it among my neighbors 🙂

Suz: Yeah, wouldn’t it be so cool to really have a pink guitar!

Laurel: I love listening to violin music. How wonderful for you. I bet you are having fun learning a different instrument!

Tristi: I didn’t think of that! Great idea. Now if only my hubby will agree to it… 🙂

Rachel: Wow, you are serious musicians at your house.

Melinda: *learning bass* How awesome for you!

Lance: Thanks. Truth is, I need just a little prodding to perform in front of strangers. 🙂 In an amateur sort of way, of course.
