How President Bush made my kids happy 6

Pink Think: “Success is how high you bounce when you hit bottom.” – George S. Patton

For the longest time, my husband and I resisted getting our kids a trampoline. I just hated the thought of the kids getting hurt, or paralyzed, or getting a broken bone.

We finally broke down and bought one, thanks to President Bush’s timely stimulus check. That, and because I felt bad for my kids when they looked with longing onto the neighbors’ trampoline parties.

We finished assembling it today. I decided if I ever need to start a home-based business, it would be assembling trampoline safety nets because I was about ready to pay someone to do it. I’m sure there’s a market for this somewhere, because I doubt people want to crochet trampolines all day.

So far, no broken bones.

How about you, what did you do with your stimulus check?

About 15 years ago, when our children were small, we bought a 14 ft – 8 sidded tramp. It turned out to be one of the very best investments we could have made. We did have a few accidents, but accidents are going to happen one way or the other. My son’s most serious one happenned when he and his friends were playing tag. He slipped in the grass and fell onto the sidewalk with his arm under him. A spiral fracture! The tramoline was only ten feet away – and over the fence, but it didn’t even get a chance to contribute. We never used a net around our tramp either, but wondered if it was a good idea or not. Fingers and toes can get caught, and kids may perform more exuberant stunts considering the saving power of the extra protection. It is my feeling that most things can be used safely if you keep your brain in motion. Guards are good, but if a user is not thinking they are probably still going to hurt themselves. Good luck and have fun!!!

    Thanks for stopping by.

The kids practically LIVE on the tramp now. They only come in for meals. A great start to the summer!

The net SEEMS safer; My youngest is small enough it makes me nervous seeing her being bounced around by the older kids. The fun thing about it is they bounce around plastic balls and the balls stay inside.

    Happy summer!!

Amen to that Jewel! I began writing in earnest on my palm pilot using a portable keyboard. It worked well, but my laptop has so many more options! I have done nearly all my writing a few minutes at a time, so if not for technology, I’d still be dreamin’ about it. It amazes me to see a dream come true. You just keep at it and so will yours!
