Getting I.D.’d 6

Pink Think: “You can’t help getting older, but you don’t have to get old.” – George Burns

When my husband and I got engaged (I was 20 going on 21, he was 23) and were looking for a car, a salesman took one look at us and said, “I won’t talk to you until you come back with your parents.” He obviously thought we were high school kids. I felt so insulted.

Fast forward 16 years.

I was having my hair done at a salon this past week. The stylist in the next stall told me one of her clients thought I was a high school kid. I felt so flattered. (Okay, I also thought she was either insane or very near-sighted — I mean, high school? –but hey, I’ll take any compliments I can get.)

Funny how age changes our perspective on things.

Wait – you’re not in high school?

Oh, I guess the mother of three thing should have tipped me off… šŸ™‚

I’ve always been mistaken for older than I really am, which was cool until about five years ago.

Welcome q! Isn’t that just true?

Don, it’s the “wise” look you’re going after, so it’s not such a bad thing right? šŸ™‚

Five! And I thought I was worn out with three :-). That’s awesome.

course it works in reverse too. In High-School we think it’s so cool someone might think we were 25… till you’re 25 and they think you’re 35!

When I was in high school, I never imagined that being in my thirties would be cool. It’s by far been the best decade of my life šŸ™‚
