A Dream Visualized

Pink Think: “We all have dreams. But in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline, and effort.” – Jesse Owens

I have been hard at work revising my novel called Girl From Gurian.

Girl From Gurian is a YA historical romance set in 18th century Philippines about an exiled princess who is torn between a Spanish officer who loves her and a slave-raider who still haunts her dreams.

I have seen this baby through a crazy-intense start at NaNoWriMo 2007, some exciting times, dark moments, and now, I am determined to get to the end (I am about 70K on what looks like will be an 80k/90k story eventually – almost there! almost there!).

Yesterday, for a lark, I made a mock cover for Girl From Gurian. Until I did this, I just kept lugging around a blank-covered pink binder with lots of pages, and a nebulous dream. Now when I look at it, I get excited; I can almost taste it:
