A Conversation with My Blog 22

Pink Think: “Life is too full of distractions nowadays. When I was a kid we had a little Emerson radio and that was it. We were more dedicated. We didn’t have a choice.” – Stan Getz

Me: *eyes closed and flexing my fingers at the keyboard* I am a writer who blogs. I am a writer who blogs. I am a bliter…shoot!

My blog: Excuse me, what are you doing?

Me: *opens one eye* Oh, it’s you. I’m getting myself in the mode, reminding myself that I actually have to write fiction today. And not just blog. I need to revise “Ghost Moon Night,” so go away!

My blog: “Ghost Moon Night” sounds like a gloomy piece.

Me: It’s a ghost story. It’s more scary than gloomy.

My blog: *puts hands up to eyes* I don’t do scary. I’m girly-girl.

Me: *opens both eyes now* I thought you’re not scared of spiders.

My blog: Are you?

Me: Of course not.

My blog: What are you scared of?

Me: That I’ll never finish my revisions. So go away already!

Minutes later

My blog: *sniffs* Don’t you love me anymore?

Me: You sound like me late at night when my husband is tired and I want to stay up to “talk”.

My blog: But how can you resist looking at me? I’m so cute!

Me: I’m not looking.

My blog: Someone’s here! They’re leaving a mean comment.

Me: *looks over*

My blog: Gotcha!

Me: It’s a nice comment, what are you talking about?

My blog: Ooh, and I see that Aprilynne Pike, the author of “Wings” has a new post.

An hour later

Me: That’s it. I’m going to write now.

My blog: But…

Me: Later! *presses a button*

My computer has a mute button. Kinda takes care of that whiny blog voice.

Seriously though, I try to not to update my blog more than once, maybe twice a week – and it still steals a lot of my valuable writing time.

Don: I can’t wait to get this done…

    Q: Try it sometime šŸ™‚

Shanna: Hi! Nice to see you šŸ™‚

BPV: I need a closet without internet connection…

  • CJ, the Purple Diva

I love your blog page. You write so well! I just read all of the first page and enjoyed everyone of the post!
Yes, this blog thing is very demanding.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you will visit often!

  • Pink Ink

    Merriane: Thanks! šŸ™‚

Tammy: Didn’t know you could run a spell check on a blog…that’d be handy. I don’t know how many times I have to go back and correct some silly, obvious typo.

Colby: Sure beats talking to myself :-).

    Angie: Thanks for visiting!

CJ: Thanks. Glad you like it šŸ™‚

    JN: Thanks!

I do feel this way. All my friends are starting to do Facebook, and I am thinking to myself “That looks fun” but in reality isn’t it just one more thing to keep me from writing? How does anyone complete a book nowdays with the internet? ANd we thought it was so convenient for research!
No, no. no, don’t worry little blogs I still love you! šŸ™‚

PS Love the new look, feeling a bit better, hoping to be coming around more often.

  • Rachelle

Loved this! I’ve enjoyed “seeing” you over at my blog, thanks for stopping by. šŸ™‚
I think pretty soon there won’t be such a thing as writer’s block anymore it’ll be something like bloggers anonymous…12 steps to getting your revisions done without blogging šŸ™‚

  • Pink Ink

Sabine: *How does anyone complete a book nowadays with the internet?*

I don’t know, but maybe someone should write a book about it :-). I’ve heard of Facebook from my friends, too, and like you, I’m staying away. Happy to hear you are doing better.

Rachelle: Hiya! Yeah, the 12 steps would come in handy. šŸ™‚

Janna: Thanks and good to see you!

Hana: Glad to have you here. Thanks.

That is very cool. I have never had a conversation with my blog before. Perhaps if I try, we’ll get something done.

    Hi Jewel,

This is a cute post. There are many times I’ve felt like my blog was talking to me, but I’ve never put it into words.

My biggest problem is when my blog is saying, “so…..what are you going to write about today?” and I don’t have an answer.

  • Pink Ink

Kathryn – Hi! I can’t imagine how I’d keep up, if I freelanced like you.

Dee – Nice to see you. Sometimes I talk too much to my blog I don’t get anything done!

Barbara – Welcome! I was just thinking the same thing yesterday, “What if I run out of something to say?” So far I am about an idea ahead, knock on wood. Just barely.

Okay. This is seriously me RIGHT NOW. I picked up the computer to work on a children’s story I’m working on
(I am very open about my wanna-be-a-childrens-book-author-ness) and instead I wander to my email and see a new comment from another person I don’t know (the third today, YAY!) and so, of course I have to go check out Ms. Pink Ink and fall in love with her cute style/ self. And now the story that has been bouncing around my brain all day is saying “Hello!! Uh-hem, can I have some attention here please?”

So off I go. I’ll be back. No worries!
