Day 23: My daughter’s high school graduation

I’ve joined the #100happydays challenge. Daily, for 100 days, I will post something that makes me happy. Today, my oldest daughter Sierra graduated from high school.

I’ve been looking forward to this day.
I’m kind of sad to see this day.

I shout my joy from the rooftops.
I muffle the sob in the roof of my mouth.

She’s a lot like me.
She’s a lot different from me.

I taught her many things.
She teaches me many things.

She ventured into the world with me.
She ventures into the world without me.

I am excited to let her go.
I am not ready to let her go.

She’s no longer a child.
She’s forever my beloved child.

Congratulations to this beautiful young woman — I am proud and humbled to be her mom!
